While patrolling at work, came a cross a dude sleeping by the stairs of one of our apartments. Immediately asked him to leave cause that place is private property. He stood up and started to go down the street i turned a round and continue with the task. Then I heard a voice," Sir, Officer... Hey Security." I turned and ask," Is Everything OK?" He says, "Yes, everything is just fine, I thought i could talk to you before i go uhmn that even if i have a place to go brother." I was stunned a bit and ask him to be quick cause i got work to do.
This man first question was, "where are you from?" I said Wakanda and we both just start to laugh about it then I told him that am from Democratic Republic Of Congo. He then said that he visited Africa once in early 2000s before his life turned to be the way it is now. Next question if i have watched Kirikou and The Sorceress, I agreed that i have watched it and was an interesting story.
He then said to me that, " Kirikou did not know what that his village was being enslaved by the Sorceress until he seeks the elder's advise with a believed that those who came before us have a knowledge on how we can overcome and deliberate ourselves from the captivity. As a strong gentleman as you there is a lot you can accomplish but the only way you can do this is if y'all work together. Africa is a great continents with a lot of resources that can make the entire universe great and men with guns and power knew this and they came with division, put fear among strong men and great warriors, those who resisted were killed and those were submissive were all enslave. What you guys need is a Kirikou to an extraordinary human being who is ready to risk all for the better of the Nations." I just told him he is right cause I wanted to go finish what I was doing.
Later on, I started thinking about the story of Kirikou, then put it on context as he tried to explain it to me. He was right, based on personal experience it is hard to unite a community that is still in captivity because no one is willing to sacrifice what they have for others. If a baby that is learning how to walk is not afraid of falling during the process it is because they know that if they mastered the walking ability they will gain free access and easy reach to other stuff that will bring joy to their life.
We just have to learn how to come together as a community with the same cause, elder empowering the young ones with the ideas even though never succeeded on their time. There is a lot passion and potential among the young adult but not willingness on elders to train these folks and at the end of the when they start wrecking then they get blamed. There is no magic to successfully community it only if we know our purpose and put it to work then we will have a sustain happiness and a unified future.
A Unified community is as strong as a Sea Anchor on a boat in heavy weather moments.
